I have been interim CEO and Chairman of several companies as well as providing consulting services in product management, business development and mergers and acquisitions.

Vubiq Networks is a new company based on millimeter wave "radio" technology developed during the previous 10 years and acquired from Vubiq, Inc. Vubiq Networks started shipping product in Q4 of 2014. Product focus is on wireless delivery of high speed (1 gigabit and greater) ethernet data using patented millimeter wave technology.

FastSoft was the market leader in providing network software which accelerates the delivery of digital content over the Internet. Fastsoft's core technology was developed at Caltech under grants from DARPA and NSF. Fastsoft had over 100 customers which represent many of the major players in Internet commerce, social networking and internet video. Fastsoft was acquired by Akamai Technologies, Inc. in September, 2012. I worked as a consultant to Akamai for 6 months following the acquisition.

I joined Bivio as a turn-around CEO to re-launch the company. Bivio provided a hardware and software platform for wire speed network applications. Applications included firewall security and deep packet inspection at network speeds up to 10 Gps. I left Bivio to persue a full time start-up opportunity.

Proxinet developed and marketed a micobrowser-based web proxy for mobile devices (e.g., early mobile phones and PDAs). The technology was developed under a DARPA grant at the University of California-Berkeley and used a proxy server and patented rendering engine to enable a web browsing experience on early mobile devices. Proxinet was acquired by Puma Technologies in 1999.

Protools was a leader in standards-based network analysis and network management tools. Protools rmon-based tools led the industry until it's acquisition by Network General Corporation. After the acquisition,I became Sr. Vice President of Products at Network General responsible for the engineering development and marketing of all products including the pioneering "sniffer" network protocol analyzer.

Alantec was a pioneer in developing and marketing ethernet network hubs. Alantec went public and was subsequently acquired by Fore Systems.

I started as a Member of the Technical Staff after completing graduate school and 3 years of active duty as an Engineering Officer in the U.S. Navy. At TRW I specialized in project management. This involved writing proposals, developing and managing complex prototype developments for numerous (mostly Federal Government) customers. I then proposed, and was funded to take some TRW communications technology from one of these projects and start a separate commercial division which provided local area network products and services. When my start-up division grew to become a successful stand-alone business, I was promoted to Vice President and General Manager of TRW Information Networks. I left to run my own venture capital backed start-up company.
