As Assistant Professor in the Pharmacy Practice Department, I coordinate three different courses as well as teach in multiple other courses at the Appalachian College of Pharmacy. I also serve as the Director of Safety and Technology, Director fo the Pharmacists in Community Service (PICS) program, and as the Covid-19 Coordinator.

Rockcastle Professional Pharmacy is an outpatient pharmacy associated with the Rockcastle Regional Medical Center in Mt. Vernon, Kentucky. In addition to my work in the outpatient pharmacy, I conducted pharmacy consults for both the pulmonary and cardiac rehab programs at the hospital. I utilized my experience in quality and process controls to improve work flow and organization in several areas of the pharmacy. I utilized the Google Sites technology to develop an Intranet site for the pharmacy that provided staff help pages, links, and other information on all aspects of pharmacy billing, ordering, finance, insurance, access to drug information, etc.

As Systems Administrator, I was responsible for the purchasing, installation, maintenance, and operation of all network, communication and computer systems at BCPL. In addition, I maintained all financial records for the library, compiled annual budget and circulation reports for the state, conducted staff and public technology training courses, and maintained the library's local history and genealogy sections. I also served as Interim Library Director for two years and during this time oversaw fundraising and construction of a $1.2M Children's Wing to the public library.

At Newport News Shipbuilding, I worked as a Quality Engineer monitoring the quality of construction for three nuclear fast-attack submarines. I also served on the team that developed the Total Quality Management (TQM) process improvement plan for the shipyard. In addition, I conceived of and developed a computerized valve database used to resolve engineering problems in submarine construction.

During my time in the U.S. Navy, I served as Torpedo and Missile Fire Control Officer aboard the fleet ballistic missile submarine USS Simon Bolivar. During this time I was the Division Officer responsible for all onboard sonar and tactical weapon systems as well as the operation of 16 intercontinental ballistic missiles and associated missile fire control systems. I was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal as well as a Letter of Commendation from the Commander of the Atlantic Submarine Fleet for outstanding performance as Assistant Weapons Officer. I made 6 strategic deterrent submarine patrols in the Atlantic and logged over a year underwater during this time.
