About Ed Tella

Ed excels in the introduction of new business practices and technologies to solve complex business challenges. He is responsible for leading the asset management practice at Marine Tiger Technologies. Ed brings 30 years experience working with Transportation industry clients to his projects and is successful at building confidence in his target market and with his clients. Ed is a subject matter expert in Enterprise Asset Management specializing in Transit & Rail and experienced in Operations Planning and Optimization, and Safety & Security. As Global Transportation Solution Leader at IBM before joining Marine Tiger, Ed worked with C-Level executives around the world on developing innovative asset management solutions. Prior to IBM, Ed was EAM Product Manager at Spear Technologies, Hansen and Infor where he directed the development of solutions supporting strategic asset lifecycle management, condition-based preventive maintenance programs, inventory and warehouse management. He has introduced data driven predictive analytics across all enterprise asset classes: mobile (steel wheel & rubber tire rolling stock), linear (rail, catenary), fixed (facilities, stations) and the systems that support them (fare, SCADA). More recently, he has worked with transit agencies including the NY MTA, the Port Authority of NY & NJ, NJ Transit, and Amtrak to develop Transit Asset Management Plans, improvement programs for maintenance planning and execution, asset data standards and hierarchies, and standardized EAM processes. Ed has developed system requirements for EAM software procurements for multiple major transit agencies and is an instructor for the National Transit Institute's Introduction to Transit Asset Management course.Ed's interests keep him current with industry and asset management initiatives regarding the FAST Act, MAP-21, ISO 55001, PTC, and the proceedings of the IAM.Ed's client experience is world class.
