Erik grew-up in Nashville and attended Montgomery Bell Academy before venturing off to undergraduate studies in Austin/TX and Chattanooga/TN where he studied Biology/Chemistry/Physics as part of a traditional pre-med track. However, he realized he could combine his traditional science training with his passion for international studies by accepting a graduate school position in International Sustainable Science at Lund University/Sweden. Living, Studying, and Working in Sweden, Germany, Austria proved a very unique perspective on sustainable transportation-systems, traditional & renewable energy-generation, energy-efficiency, urban-planning, labor/immigration, and international trade.Upon returning to Washington DC, Erik realized that the residential energy-efficiency sector in the USA was neglected and needed changed. He realized that residents in his home state of Tennessee struggled with some of the highest per capita energy consumption rates -- so he moved home to Nashville to help address the problem. In early 2008, Erik founded E3 INNOVATE in Nashville/Tn to help improve the energy-efficiency of existing and new homes. E3 serves as Middle-Tennessee's first and only comprehensive Home-Performance company. By applying building science, diagnostic testing equipment, and energy-efficiency improvement steps, E3 is able to help home-owners decrease their utility bills while improving the comfort and durability of their homes.E3’s commitment to education and research is maintained through participation in local/national workshops, committees, trade-shows, and through a network of national and international colleagues. The unique backgrounds, education, experience of the E3 Team allow us to tackle complex residential home-performance challenges.International Sustainable DevelopmentResidential Home-PerformanceENERGY STAR & LEED for HOMES Certification
