Pinnacle is a 27 year old, ~£6m turnover group of businesses that provide printers, photocopiers, and software to customers across Europe. They acquired Copier Mate in August 2017, and following a brief handover period, I was appointed as their Acting Head of Service. My main responsibilities are to review and implement positive departmental change, be a point of contact for customer escalations, and manage and support the team of 10.I've divided the project to deliberately keep our focus on people, process, profit, and performance, with my main goals being to:1. Develop a consistently high-performing team through mentoring, implementing strategic change in line with the company vision, and improving business processes2. Empower staff and managers to efficiently and confidently run the department through coaching, 121s, and team training sessions3. (With the first two points completed) Render myself redundantThis role is an ideal application of my experience in operating an inclusive leadership style, cross-departmental collaboration, and implementing strategic business change.

Cartridge Mate is a South Wales supplier of printers and consumables such as ink and toner. The business supplies to all industries across the UK including Northern Ireland, the Scottish Highlands and the Isle of Wight.We stake our reputation on the ethical advice we give to customers about the consumables to buy for their offices. Printer cartridges are the single most expensive stationary cost for a company; it can work out very costly to buy the wrong printer or the wrong ink.

This role was very fulfilling. I was involved in every aspect of decision making and successfully contributed in numerous ways. My greatest achievement was developing the bespoke website that the company now uses. It operates as an e-commerce website for customers but also as internal software for the staff to use to manage orders efficiently.I have taken a wealth of business knowledge and experience away with me after three and a half years with the company. Knowing the potential pitfalls for young businesses gives me a powerful advantage over the more novice business owner.
