Junior Project class prepares third year Animation majors for the Senior Thesis. I teach them how to build their film projects from start to finish. The focus is on learning to design a workflow based on the style of animation, and the technique. Stop Motion, Classical and CG among them.As Instructor, I setup frameworks for their production ideas, acting as a producer would to steer the resources, talent and time management in the most efficient way for each student. I also rehearse with them their self-presentation, in preparation for 3rd Year Junior Reviews. We curate their portfolios together

I have worked with the amazing group of artists and directors of Maverix for many years. During this time we collaborated on a variety of projects including our short film project called "Oasis".

Design work for the animated poem portion of the movie "Howl".

Clients include Vinton Studios, Nickelodeon, Character Builders, Maverix, Mondo Media, HBO, and Spike TV.

Working with hollywood writers and studio execs to rework the film project "Snow Queen", under Leo Chiu and Pam Coats' management. Developed script with an eye toward directing the film; part of a two picture deal intended to include one classic fairy tale and one original story, based on the opera: "AIDA".

*Brands include: Nike, Sony, Cartoon Network and HBO.Handled clients as diverse as Snoop Dog; Suntory Whiskey Japan; MTV; and Quincy Jones QDE Productions on a variety of visual development and pitching properties as well as award winning spots for TV.* Member of the Creative Board- Story and art development of the studio's television and feature projects.*Artist mentorship- Worked with the company to train and develop artists and interns, taught classes in design and life drawing, played a leadership role within studio's culture.

* Feature development- Caribbean Project. Directed this project, created the overall art direction including original character designs and style frames. Worked closely with the writer to develop the story and script. Project ultimately not produced. (hiatus from WildBrain to do this project)

Worked with the fine folks in HBO's family programming group to create various animated projects including "Tar Beach" part of the award winning "Goodnight Moon and Other Sleepy Time Tales" special and "John Henry" part of their Animated Tales of the World series. Additionally, I directed season 2 of Happily Ever After: Fairy Tales for Every Child. This work was done while at WildBrain.

Directed season two of "Happily Ever After: Fairy Tales For Every Child", a series which retells the world's most famous fairy tales with a cast of animated characters from many ethnic backgrounds.

I designed bids in competition with other commercial shops; planning the method of production and proposing an art direction around the budget, and then formed a crew if we got awarded. The spots I directed were story-boarded and layed- out by me in a 2d workflow, then animated by myself and others with mixed media as well as traditional methods. I assisted other directors in animation and concept design. My first short film came through a pitch to MTV, who we made lots of bumpers and interstitial animation for. Liquid Television accepted a pitch and I was able to make a short urban piece called "Big City", a 12 minute tale of romance and rhyme that was invited to animation festivals in Kobe, Japan, Los Angeles, Ontario and New York. We also showed at Annecy Festival in France. Beyond that, I was teamed up with producer Cindy Woodburn and director John Stevonson to develop Feature Films for Colossal. We led diverse teams through the Visual Development and early Story processes. John and I pitched Colossal film projects to many studios including Paramount, New Line, Sony, and Fox.

Directed Commercials, Created pilot for Liquid Television,Developed/Pitched Features, Animation, Storyboards and Layout

Served as a 2d character animator, 2d layout artist and film development team member. Created and directed animated short for MTV's "Liquid Television". In the commercials department I shepherded multiple clients and projects through the production pipeline and added to the legendary colossal body of work.

Storyboarded several sequences in the production "Be-Be's Kids".Episodic Director for complete second season of "Happily Ever After, Fairytales for Every Child". I art-directed the season along with Tim Biskup and the great Walt Pereguoy. Voice-Directed nearly a hundred vocal performances including Denzel Washington, Richard Lewis, Alfre Woodard, Samuel Jackson, David Hyde-Pierce, Chris Rock, and Will Smith.
