https://sites.google.com/site/edbertsie/I am an optical systems scientist at Reality Labs Research at Meta Platforms Inc. My research interest lies at the intersection of sensing and tracking, biosensing, human-computer interface, and AR/VR. My recent project includes developing high-sensitivity optical systems to channel user's input. Previously, I received my PhD in physics from MIT and a postdoctoral fellowship from Stanford University, where I developed new optical techniques for controlling quantum excitations in novel materials. My past projects include developing optical control of electronic valleys towards atomically-thin valleytronic transistors, building high-resolution XUV photoemission spectroscopy based on time-of-flight detection array, and demonstrating terahertz frequency topological switches using THz ultrafast electron diffraction. These works were published in Nature, Science, and Nature Materials, and received a Richard Greene Dissertation Award by the American Physical Society (APS).
