About Ed Boyden

I lead the Synthetic Neurobiology Group at MIT, and am a Howard Hughes Medical Institute investigator. My group develops and systematically applies radical new technologies to analyze, repair, and simulate the brain, at a deep and mechanistic level. Through creative, ground-truth oriented, and collaborative approaches, we invent and discover, and help people grow as thinkers and leaders. I also have co-founded many companies, and advise many companies and non-profits.
