Worked with diverse teams across AKQA studios in Melbourne, Sydney, Copenhagen, Bali, Gurgaon, Auckland, and most recently San Francisco.Led planning and production of two React Native apps for Bunnings Warehouse (Australian home improvement retailer, $17.8B revenue in 2022): Bunnings and PowerPass. Heavily involved in defining the direction of the front-end stack, and with agreement of Tech Lead and Director – scaffolding the project and shipping MVP.Coordinated efforts across international team (> 100 people) building a membership mode for a brownfields Sitecore Commerce web project. Researched feasibility, defined refactoring initiatives, and built POCs. We successfully delivered the feature and a refreshed product browsing / search (Coveo) experience.Conducted interviews and coding tests for dev role recruiting; coordinated engineering excellence meetings with teams around the world that we worked with; mentored colleagues and junior devs; presented progress in projects I was working on to wider organization.Developed web pages to strict WCAG standards, championing a11y best practices to team.

Worked with team on website re-platforming project for CPA Australia to Sitecore 9. Built React components and tests intended for use with Experience Editor (React SSR). Solved problems relating to SSR and coordinated development with backend devs to test and release a library of components as well as present them in Storybook.Contributed code and bugfixes to Phaser.io (Canvas / WebGL) experience, Swintopia – an award-winning open day web experience for students at Swinburne University during COVID.

Worked within this boutique design agency to develop and deploy a wide range of websites using WordPress, Umbraco, Sitecore, Shopify and Contentful; led full redesign of Drupal Commerce website migrating to ‘headless Drupal’, allowing FE team to move quicker; advocated for use of React and pushed for better engineering practices such as BEM, unit testing, and good a11y practices.

While working at a retail job, freelanced on the side doing mostly PSD2HTML-type work. My experience stretches beyond 2015 as web development has always been a self-taught hobby, originally sparked when I started creating things using Flash and Photoshop back in the day. Because of this, I have a good historical knowledge of web technologies and appreciation for why things are like they are today.
