I led the formation of an independent non-profit, The Mifos Initiative, that guided our spin-off from Grameen Foundation and the successful transition to a platform and partner-driven approach to bringing financial inclusion to the poor. As Director of Community Programs, I grew our open source community, brought the Mifos X core banking platform to market, and cultivated an ecosystem of partners: • Jointly led day-to-day management and governance of the non-profit.• Oversaw product development of our new technology platform, Mifos X, enabling fintech innovators to build financial inclusion solutions. • Developed and executed on the community & business development strategy bringing Mifos X to market as a global open source core banking platform used by 250+ institutions serving 3.5 million clients. • Guided evolution of our open source ecosystem building new innovation on the platform including cloud-based core banking systems, agent & consumer-facing mobile wallets, mobile apps for field officers and clients, and automated mobile lending solutions. • Built and grew our global partner program to 75 local deployment partners and a dozen platform solution partners operating sustainable social businesses.• Jointly coordinated the transition of Mifos X development and governance to the Apache Software Foundation as Apache Fineract. • Establish strategic partnerships with Google, ThoughtWorks, IBM, Microsoft, Social Coding 4 Good, VMware, and Wal-Mart. • Recruited new volunteer contributors (corporate, individual, & university) to grow external development including participation in Google Summer of Code, Google Code-In, and Outreachy. • Guided customer adoption, ensuring outreach to new markets, onboarding of new customers & partners, and maintaining satisfaction through documentation and support. • Facilitated online meetups, global events and workshops, and the launch of our network of local Mifos chapters to enable community-wide collaboration.
