Management of safety testing team which is responsible for all full vehicle certification and ratings tests conducted for the North American market. Developed Multi-Level Constant Force Retractor from theory to Concept Verification in less than one year. Designed and statically deployed Central Inflation System.

The team consistently operated at 88% of budget. Under my guidance, the team successfully transferred 36 of 65 projects to core and stopping research on projects that were of no benefit. The team was awarded 70 US Patents, 38 World Patents, 34 European Patents, 1 Japanese Patent, 7 Trade Secrets and created 19 Technical Papers.

Name of company changed from Allied Signal Safety Restraints to Breed Technologies to BSRS back to Breed Technologies and finally Key Safety Systems.As senior research engineer in the Advanced Restraint Systems team, my responsibilities were the design and conceptualization utilizing CATIA and SolidWorks. Conducting Finite Element Analysis (HYPERMESH and COSMOS) and kinematics analysis (Working Model 3D) of the concepts. Then conducting full system virtual simulations (MADYMO). Followed by prototype build of concepts and static and dynamic testing of prototype concepts to prove analysis studies. The findings reported by progress presentations and technical reports to the Technology Council committee. Technical sales support would follow at the customer requests.

Achievements during my tenure were the formulation of a new manufacturing business group (rapid prototype). Re-instituted Finite Element Group. Created and maintained internet WEB site.

Achievements during my tenure were the creation of the Structural Analysis Group, evaluated various FEA software packages and procured the UNIX workstations and analysis software. Created UNIX workstation and personal computer Local Area Network (LAN) that allowed both systems to communicate with no degradation in transferred files.

As an engineer my responsibilities were the coordination of design and analysis projects and customer relations. Finite Element Analysis (MSC/NASTRAN and FE2000) and design approach and conceptualization (manual drafting). Software development (FORTRAN and UNIX C-Shell).

As a designer my responsibilities were the design and detail of major panel dies, progressive dies and checking fixtures (manual drafting).
