Leading the development of Aegis' rail plant engineering capability. Provide rail plant Engineering support to OTP and OTM manufacturers to assist in the introduction of machines onto GB rail infrastructure and internationally. This includes both new manufacture machines and transfer of existing machines. Current capabilities include:- leading the Common Safety Method process;- performing Independent Safety Assessment;- hazard log management and peer review;- production of Infrastructure Manager Product Acceptance requirements and management through the process;- review of standards or code of practices for compliance;- assistance with certification to machinery directive;- production of technical documents including as built and maintenance.

Continue to lead the development of Network Rail's Wheelset Standards and provide advice to related projects both internally and externally. Lead the final developments in the re-write of the Infrastructure Plant Manual and start the re-writing of the remaining plant manuals. Project Engineer two projects for the High Output Plant System; KFA wagon overhaul and aerodynamic affects on MEWPs.

Mange Network Rail's Standards relating to Wheelsets and Axle Bearings, including sitting on related industry working and project groups.

Undertake a number of placements across Network Rail mainly relating to Traction and Rolling Stock. This included working within the Thameslink Systems Integrator Team looking at Systems Engineering and Integration of the whole Thameslink programme, operations, infrastructure and trains. Hands on experience of hands on maintenance and overhaul of EMU's, diesel and electric locomotives, wagons and wheelsets. I completed some small CAD and FEA projects for installation in the infrastructure monitoring fleet. Introduction to the planning for overhaul of a large fleet of wagons. Brief appreciation of the Infrstructure, through week long placements in different disiplines for the first 3 months.
