I have 9+ years experience working for the Miami-Dade Public Library System as a Librarian, as well as experience working at academic libraries as a technical services assistant and working with special collections at a museum library. From 2003-2005, I worked at the Wolfsonian-FIU library as a part-time library assistant scanning special collections items and creating original and copy cataloging records for various items in the Library's collection. During this time, I also decided to pursue a degree in Library and Information Science and enrolled in USF's distance learning program. In 2005, I was hired full-time for the Miami-Dade Public Library System as a "Librarian Intern." I completed my degree in December 2007 and continued working for MDPLS, where I am currently employed. As a librarian for MDPLS, I have worked in both small and large branches, providing informational, reference and circulation assistance to library patrons of various ages, ethnicities, and socioeconomic backgrounds. I am currently at the West Kendall Regional Library, where I assist a multicultural population with their information and reference needs and create/present children's programs.Prior to my career in library science, I worked as a field worker/lab assistant at The Archaeological and Historical Conservancy, Inc., where I mainly managed and processed archaeological collections excavated during field projects.
