Founded in October 2005, Studio Edda works with clients on both sides of the Atlantic, operating from Boston MA and Reykjavik Iceland, sometimes simultaneously and always seamlessly!Studio Edda offers graphic design services and consulting for book publishers, branding, corporate identity programs, and magazine publishers.Studio Edda's clients include publishing companies, photography studios, science museums, educational developers, and non-profit organizations.In addition to many years of creative direction and graphic design, Edda has taught design at the college level, conducted workshops, and consulted in the US and her native Iceland.

Provide creative art direction and supervise staff (over 30 members of combined art and design) and freelance designers on educational design projects K-12 for various publishers nationwide. Provide art and design direction across three sites, coordinating work in all disciplines, emphasizing competitive design direction and art program taking into account different needs of various clients. Fast paced, multi-leveled projects provided on time and within set budgets. Work closely with clients as well as in-house staff in all areas: editorial, project management, electronic production. Help build creative talent by hiring staff in all three locations with deep knowledge of educational publishing as well as nurturing and leading younger staff members.

Hire, art direct and supervise staff and freelance designers on various educational design projects including: K-6 Social Studies program (We the People), a K-2 Phonics program, a new Reading program (A Legacy of Literacy), a new Math program (Houghton Mifflin Math). Art directed and supervised visual program for Houghton Mifflin Math CD-ROM Intervention program. Strong contributor to overall art program, selected and directed illustrators in addition to art directing design staff. Art directed and managed outside design vendors. Worked closely with Houghton Mifflin Marketing and Sales group, as well as Market Research group to understand market needs. Also, worked closely with Editorial division as well as Electronic Production group to ensure the most desired outcome of each project.
