Assuming a promoted post in the largest division within the company as Chief Engineer during a period of extensive growth within Greggs where the business increased from 114 shops to 170 shops and an annual turnover of £50m to £75m.This growth necessitated construction of a new £17m factory and as part of the project team managing this construction and working alongside the Group Engineering Director, I was responsible for the process of upgrading all machinery within the factory. This included ensuring existing equipment met European standards, procurement of new equipment, training, commissioning and handover of the equipment to production.I have continued to support this growth by managing an annual budget of £1.3m and achieving grade A British Retail Consortium Standard through raising ethos, introducing engineering procedures and implementation of planned maintenance systems. In addition, by re-structuring the engineering department I gained production efficiencies which allowed my division to be the only one within the company capable of delivering a centralised solution to producing 2 key lines.

In this role I was responsible for the maintenance of factory machinery and 50 retail units. I was an Integral part of the project team managing construction of a £1.5m factory and solely responsible for the development of the maintenance division including implementing procedures, machinery standards, planned maintenance system and recruiting and training and personnel. Leaving this role to assume a promoted post, the division had been enhanced from a rudimentary engineering function to a fully operational maintenance division where effective succession planning ensured no disruption and continued success.
