Through the kindness and wonderful generosity of our local community leaders and businesses, the Nicole Jarvis MD Parkinson's Research Foundation has been able to raise and donate over $50,000 since 2012 to the Parkinson Foundation of Oklahoma to help fund services for the 15,000 Oklahoman’s suffering from Parkinson’s Disease. We have also donated over $750,000 since 2012 to Team Fox in support of the Michael J. Fox Foundation to help fund cutting edge research to develop better treatments and eventually a cure for Parkinson’s Disease. We could not have achieved this level of success without the help of our amazing community!I am writing you now to humbly ask for your support this year. Bret was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease at age 38 years old, and he kept his diagnosis a secret as he feared that public knowledge of his condition might hurt his career as a thriving lawyer in New York City. However, after almost 5 years of secrecy, Bret decided that it was time to become a Parkinson’s Disease advocate. He then published his inspiring story in a Forbes magazine blog post in 2012. Since then Bret has become the Executive Director of the New York City Bar Association. He is a member of the Michael J. Fox Foundation Patient Council.
