I have been in the Aviation Industry for over 40 years and I have never wavered from my belief that delivering a wold-class product whilst enjoying the job plus making it enjoyable for staff and customers is vital. When people are happy they work hard without stress - and the business benefits.I think the definition of success is extremely difficult to pin-point. Is it who has the most money, who has the biggest Company, who has the most power? Failure is easier to identify - who has not tried their best? If you run away from lack of effort, then success is inevitable.I have been fortunate enough to be involved in some memorable events during my career so far. Some contributing hugely to the financial success of my ventures (such as the G8 aircraft for Infratil in 2005) and some have been about fun - blowing cars down the short runway at Prestwick Airport with a 747-400 for a BBC "Top gear" episode being a good example.I wouldn't change a thing about my professional life. How many people can say that?Specialties: Winning business and engaging with clients to understand their needs - then delivering on those needs.

Glasgow Prestwick - which won over 90% of the Business Aviation traffic against two competitors. Manchester - where we had a Bombardier Approved Maintenance facility as well as the only FBO on the airfield. We also had FBOs in Spain as well as Air Charter in UAE.

I was responsible for several roles. * Aircraft safety "from engine shutdown to engine startup" * Manager for up to 75 Boeing 747 Engineers based with Polar Air Cargo* Responsible for all filming and PR events at Prestwick & Manston Airports* Managing Prestwick Handling - all Ground Handling for passenger, freight and Business Aviation* Commercial responsible for all non-scheduled flights at Infratil's 2 airports in UK. I was fortunate enough to grow this business from around £100k p.a. to almost £6 Million p.a. During my time I was lucky enough to win some exceptionally interesting business such as the placing of all the Aircraft for the G8 in 2005, the basing of aircraft from the USS Enterprise in 2004, the acquisition of 99% of all Boeing 747 transatlantic fuel stops and an assortment of others.

I approached the Airport with the concept of setting up a dedicated facility to provide services to VIP aircraft. This went ahead and we then opened in Edinburgh and Birmingham as well as setting up a Handling facility at London City Airport and running Cumbernauld Airfield. The business was eventually sold to Signature. -
