OVERVIEW:Relocated to support a newly-acquired deep hole drilling business. Supported a variety of general plant needs, from deep hole drilling tooling to parking lot construction. Managed capital growth heat treat facility plans of over $40M. Supported Lean Manufacturing initiatives and recommended technical solutions as needed, as well as supporting process reconstruction through FMEA facilitation (worked as the Receiving Process FMEA Facilitator, Hone Process FMEA Facilitator, and Pull Bore Process FMEA Facilitator). HIGHLIGHTS:✅ Implemented an engineering drawing management system using Adept software, as well as a Zoller Presetter tool inspection and management database.✅ Trained team members on SolidWorks design and detailing best practices, as well as design for manufacturability (DFM), in context modeling references, and development of an assembly BOM.✅ Increased quality and throughput through designing an offline sleeve calibration device.

OVERVIEW:Commissioned a new SMS Meer precision sizing mill (PSM) at the Harrison rolling mill. Managed projects between maintenance teams and external vendors: rebuilding an NDT ultrasonic and Eddy current inspection machine material handling system; integrating powered conveyor rolls; and redesigning a cutoff machine gantry dead length stop.HIGHLIGHTS:✅ Redesigned existing PSM equipment for improved functionality and ease of use, automated repetitious tooling programming calculations to output lathe programs from geometric inputs, co-redesigned the guide box to increase work holding forces at full range of free sizes, and co-developed best mill tooling Temposonic calibration practices to achieve ¼ AISI tolerances.✅ Led a key project that involved integrating rotary encoders and strain gages to a legacy 5 roll Sutton tube straightener to collect operator set-up data and create an experience database.✅ Directed relocation of the Met Lab Machine shop for a new intermediate finishing line (IFL) installation, including 4 lathes, 4 band saws, 2 surface grinders, 2 drill presses, and others.PRIOR:🔷 Mechanical Engineering Intern – Designed a “Zing 24x12” engraving machine.
