Information Technology professional working as IT Associate in a University Setting. Engineering Technician with 11+ years experience at an Optical Disc Manufacturing facility. Extensive experience with critical tasks including Installation, repair and maintenance of an array of essential equipment in the replication of CD and DVD Discs. My interest in computer technology and my desire to work in the customer service environment have inspired me to pursue further education to transition into the information technology sector.People are important to me. I enjoy being with people and more importantly, I like helping them. My interpersonal strengths have been enriched in my previous work history and I have further appreciation of my communication skills as an engaged non-traditional student.I am a musician. The connection that I have enjoyed with people in this role has helped me to relate how, with music, we do not need to speak (or sing) to convey feelings or emotions. I have been able to use this understanding to to become a better communicator in other parts of my life. My appreciation for teaching has recently influenced my career focus. From guitar lessons to training colleagues in manufacturing or computer equipment, I have enjoyed the process of helping people learn something new. I am enjoying my work in IT and I'm actively applying my training skills in order to contribute in a workforce development initiative.
