Substitute reference librarian/librarian float in Adult & Teen Services, Genealogy and Local History, and at the library’s South Branch.

I serve mostly internal customers configuring OASIS and Rialto book ordering platforms in a proprietary system, taking into account customer requirements for print book ordering (including cataloging and processing requirements) and ebook ordering, EDI and API invoicing setup, PDF invoice delivery setup, currency changes, address corrections, and notice delivery preferences, as well as DDA, EBA, and deposit customer configurations. I work with customers primarily in the United States, Australia, Spain, and Europe, not including the UK. I liaise with 25+ external platforms/vendors, as well as cross-functional teams in Product Management, Software Engineering, Customer Services, and Technical Support daily. I manage a caseload in Salesforce for customer support cases regarding issues of MARC record delivery, cataloging and processing corrections/changes, invoice delivery, invoice customization, and other account configuration changes as required. I help maintain our departmental procedural documentation on Confluence. I serve on a weekly team responsible for the development of the Rialto invoicing system design, functionality, and configuration process.

I was responsible for collection development, acquisitions, cataloging, bindery, deselection, stacks maintenance, and library systems. I was the site coordinator and system administrator for Innovative Interfaces' Sierra ILS. I served on the University Assessment Committee and was the library liaison to the Graduate Creative Writing Program.

• Created and edited MARC records for all library material types in OCLC Connexion.• Classified/reclassified materials to ensure ease of access for patrons and staff.• Overlaid records into the ILS, Innovative Interfaces’ Sierra.• Performed original cataloging when necessary; created master records in OCLC.• Created and maintained local series authority records for all material types, where applicable.• Oversaw authority control within the catalog, Innovative Interfaces’ Encore.• Directed work of copy catalogers.• Performed database maintenance, including correcting headings.• Uploaded MARC records to the catalog from database vendors.• Created RDA implementation guidelines and trained catalogers on local RDA practices.• Created policies, workflow procedures, & training manuals to increase the efficiency of the catalogers.

Taught 16 week (regular semester) and 8 week (summer session) courses: LIBR 103 Introduction to Library Public Services, LIBR 101 Introduction to Libraries and Library Services, * LIBR 206 Library Assistant Practicum.• LIBR 101 covers library history, libraries in society, general collections, library materials, evolving library services, and ethics in information.• LIBR 103 covers library service areas of staffing, customer service, circulation/access control, interlibrary loan & document delivery, reserve services, serials, archives, special collections and preservation, copyright, and library security.• LIBR 206 I served as a faculty supervisor for practicum students applying curriculum-based skills in a library setting as a capstone project.• Monitored and evaluated web-based instruction course management to ensure best practices were maintained for effective online teaching.• Ensured that students received timely and constructive feedback to assure mastery of concepts outlined in the syllabus and course objectives.

Worked with an instructional designer from the Center for Instructional Technology, I redevloped LIBR 103: Introduction to Library Access Services:• Created course objectives and competencies.• Developed assessment material, including quizzes and exams.• Restructured/updated reading assignments and learning activities.• Aligned and sequenced course material to course objectives and learning competencies.

• Researched student, faculty, and community reference questions at the Ask-A-Librarian Service Desk.• Created library research guides using LibGuides, specializing in Business and Government Documents subject areas.• Created web content for the Library’s website; edited & created basic HTML and CSS code.• Liaised with teaching faculty to build collaborative relationships for information literacy, library promotions, research guide development, and collection development.• Taught bibliographic instruction classes.• Developed online reference services for newly created web-based courses.• Created library displays and promotions.
