For my final year major project I was selected to be a part of the Brunel Racing team to build a single seat racing car for the 2014 Formula Student competition. My role was to design and manufacture a multifunctional steering wheel, complete with shift paddles, and driver interface.The project was centered around the use of Computer Aided Design software packages and manufacturing techniques, primarily Solidworks, ANSYS Mechanical and CorelDRAW X6.To date the all design work and structural analysis has been completed and the final components are in the final stages of manufacturing.

Felixstowe, Suffolk

Was a successful applicant in becoming a member of the small team of Project Engineers of the Port of Felixstowe, the UK’s largest and busiest container port. During this time I gained priceless knowledge and experiences working on both small and large-scale projects. The most inspiring project was being involved in the build stage, commissioning and opening of the well publicised new North Rail Terminal that opened in the summer of 2013. All other projects can be found in the “Projects” section of my profile.My main duties were:Specialised in the design and analysis of steel structures, mainly access platforms and lifting equipment. • Structural analysis calculations in accordance with British and European Standards.• Lifting equipment load tested appropriately.• Specification of materials, joints, fixings and surface preparations and finishes.• Full technical drawings for manufacture.• Obtained quotations as per company’s procurement procedures. • Continuous contact with suppliers, fabricators, other port departments and management through face-to-face meetings, phone calls and emails to ensure smooth running of projects.
