I’ve been CEO and owner of AAS since 2003. In the last 11 years the company has tripled in sales volume, but more importantly the company has transitioned from manual operations to a primarily computer automation at all levels. From sales, CAD, mold design, production and shipping automated systems have been added. For the last 2 years AAS has won more awards for manufacturing excellence and craftsmanship than any other company in our industry.

National flooring distributor company. I was responsible for financially evaluating the business and separating the business from a carpet manufacturer, focusing the sales force on calling on individually owned retail stores to chain store operations consisting of several hundred units.

This was a start-up business developed to save health insurance companies costs by monitoring and educating chronically ill patients with respiratory diseases. The idea, which proved to save cost, was that qualified technicians and care givers, through education could help the chronically stay well and out of the hospital. Hospital costs are the primary expenses of the health care network. I was responsible for establishing internal procedures and contracts with major health care organizations. We combined the company with a broader based disease management business and made a profitable exist for investors.

Dallas/Fort Worth Area

A public, NYSE company, manufacturing specialty plastics and closures for the food industry. Sun Coast was a diversified manufacturer of specialty plastics serving many industries such as, laminate flooring and counter top, the electrical industry, food packaging industry. I was responsible for business development, new products, raising debt and capital, as well as running all aspects of the business.I was successful in selling the business to another competitor at twice the historical trading multiple of the business. Employees and investors were pleased with the sale of the business.

Dallas/Fort Worth Area

Color Tile was the largest retailer of flooring products in the United States. I was the CFO and also the CEO for over 10 years. I led the corporate buy-out from a public company to a private company with the assistance of a major investor group. During that time I doubled the sales volume of the company to $750 million. I also opened over 100 new stores, added large new product categories including introducing laminate flooring products to the US from Europe. The earnings of the company more than doubled during my leadership.
