During the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic, I launched my candidacy to become the Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences (FNAS) Representative on the Trinity Western University Student Association (TWUSA) Council 2021-2022. The FNAS Representative advocates for the needs of all students in the faculty through TWUSA, as well as liaise with the Dean of the Faculty and Department Chairs to enhance the student learning experience. With a manifesto in mind to Execute, Demand and Deliver (E.D.D.), I was voted in as the FNAS Representative-elect back in February 2021. Despite all the challenges, I look forward to stepping into this role for the upcoming academic year and working for the students who allowed me to serve in the capacity.

•Greeted, assisted and provided insight to hundreds of customers daily about the plethora of products and services offered.•Consistently met and superseded company sales and promotional targets.•Efficiently mastered company software technology to provide effective customer service and enhance marketing strategies, both in real time and online.

The News Editor specifically managed the News section of the student run Mars’ Hill Newspaper to ensure it is filled with high-quality, student- and alumni-written and section-related material each issue. This included actively seeking out, recruiting and meeting with potential writers, brainstorming, planning and assigning content for every issue.News Editors also worked with the writers to edit articles for content, style, and technique, once articles were submitted. Notably, this was copy-editing the section, checking for correct grammar, spelling, formatting and other technical conventions, as well as tone and technical strength.The role also came with the responsibility of managing a dynamic team of writers for the news section, working closely with writers to help develop their skills, writing consistently for the section, and creating a strong vision for the section.

Peer Instructors (P.Is) teach the “FNDN101” course by facilitating the learning for a class of 15-18 students during the fall semester. They also serve as advisors and coaches throughout the semester. P.Is are expected to be positive student leaders who assist new students with their academic and personal transition to life at Trinity Western University. During the tenure, P.Is develop the following skills and attributes: facilitation skills, instructing peers, relationship development, developing WordPress sites, knowing and sharing resources, mentoring, servant leadership, and participating in a liberal arts education.

This revered student leadership position tasks the individual to serve as a bridge between the school’s administration and student body. Governing a prefecture of over 100 students, maintaining order among the 1700 member student population, liaising with 120+ school administrators and representing the school as a brand ambassador during the 60th anniversary celebrations were just some of the duties.
