For the past 18 months I have worked as an Microspace Manager in the PRM team. The primary aspect of my role has been leading and developing a team of 9 PRMs. Having never done the role myself I have learnt a lot about my own leadership style and leading a team; truly empowering them and coaching them to succeed. I led this team throughout Covid and the changes that brought inside and outside of working, learning to lead remotely.As well as managing the team I have played a key role in supporting the Space leadership team with the rollout of CCM. This is a new module of the CARS project that has been rolled out during my time in the team. Organising the team transition and supporting the team through significant change.In this role I have also continued to manage my own projects, predominantly focusing on leading on all things digital from a ranging perspective. The core project for this area was working with the Analytics team to create a list of 1,000 core lines to range across the entire dotcom estate.I also led on the Deliveroo ranging initiative, working across a number of teams to ensure an agile and proactive approach to making this trial a success. Following an initial range update I worked with the project team to improve our range based on customer sales and feedback. In early 2021 we went live with a new range and trialled a larger range to understand the customer and sales impact.

For 2 years I worked as a development manager within the Analysis & Transformation team. Having come into the team during a period of significant transition I helped to shape the direction of the newly formed team and deliver our vision to the department & wider business, working closely with the Head of Merch Ops.I was heavily involved in the creation, development and delivery of two new key availability measures, WiDA & Failed Picks. This work gave me exposure to work alongside the BI team and through the development of these relationships was able to drive forward a number of other initiatives to support our vision of improving Merchandising's data driven insight.My early progress in the role was rewarded with the opportunity to line manage the three analysts within the team. This new level of responsibility gave me a change of focus in the role and allowed me to concentrate more on the strategic direction of the team and the department. Subsequently I recruited and hired an SME to work on the CARS project and helped shape the direction of this role and supported the Partners development on a key business initiative.

I supervised, supported & co-ordinated a team of Demand Planners, responsible for annual sales of over £1 billion. During my time in the role I led a decrease in annual FPR wastage from 4.41% to 3.77% and increased OSA from 92.49% to 95.06%.The skills gained in this role were to analyse data and efficiently prioritise and multi-task to work towards a deadline. I learnt not only to communicate clearly, but also to listen to a wide range of directorates and team members, this helped develop strong relationships and collaborate across teams with a network of partners.I built on strong analytical skills learnt at University and have been able to focus these to support strategic planning within the team and department. Assessing information, using my logical and mathematical skills to convert concepts into practical solutions for development and progression. I developed clear and to-the-point presentations skills to explain and demonstrate complex and intricate ideas to a large variety of stakeholders. In the role I was not afraid to make strong, bold and often complex decisions to maximise sales and profit whilst considering the complex risks.I developed the ability to explain my decisions simply and accurately. I encouraged new business initiatives and supported collaborative projects across all directorates. I drove continual improvement of systems and processes to ensure better results through business engagement.

I worked as a Demand Planner in the Fresh Produce team and took on new responsibilities at every opportunity. Having grasped the basic systems I was given the opportunity to forecast the most challenging category in Fresh Produce, soft fruit. Within my first six months I forecasted Halloween pumpkins for the first time under central ordering. I also became a Report Champion, I worked closely with the department analysts to centralise and simplify the reporting, and in turn I gained a lot of BOBI knowledge.

I worked on the shop floor in the FRV section of Waitrose Islington. In the year before moving to head office I became a team leader supporting the team and section manager. The time in branch has been invaluable to help me understand the end to end operation of the Supply Chain.

I worked in the risk management team as an analyst on the credit card portfolio, for a yearlong internship after my second year of university. I was required to learn and program using SAS, analysing monthly credit card data and discussing the results in team meetings. I developed my problem solving and time management skills, along with learning to communicate my analysis in a coherent and professional manner to other members of the risk team. More specifically my role involved running monthly data analysis on the credit card portfolio and carrying out ad-hoc analysis on how we could improve our policies. As my competency increased I was given more responsibility, culminating in a project bringing all the brands and products together in one piece of analysis and demising a lot of the older pieces.
