Independent Contractor
CurrentIndependent Contractor providing translation services to the US Government, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and many other institutions and private individuals. I have been working as an Independent Contractor for Open Source Center (OSC), formerly Foreign Broadcast Information Service (FBIS), since August 2011. In this capacity, I translate voice and printed material from Haitian Creole and French to English and do press highlights, media analyses, and other types of media-related reports on a daily basis.I have been working as an Independent Contractor also for the Church of the Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints since 1997. I was the head of the Haiti Translation Team between 1997 and 2000. I was a member of the Ecclesiastic Review Committees for the Creole translations of The Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and The Pearl of Great Price. I translated an important number of LDS Church manuals, leadership training materials, articles intended for publication in the Church's magazine 'Ensign' ('Lyawona' in Creole), General Conference talks, videos, and other important doctrinal materials from English to Creole. I did the Content Review and the Language Review of manuals, articles, and other documents produced by the Church in English and translated in Creole by other members of the Haiti Translation Team. I also served as Creole-English and English-Creole interpreter for foreign visitors and the members of the LDS Church in Haiti from 2000 to 2011.I have been providing translation services to other institutions and private individuals since 1995. I translated all kinds of texts including letters, reports, school transcripts, and official documents such as Birth Certificates, Marriage Certificates, Death Certificates, Adoption Certificates, etc. from French to English. I also translated immigration documents from English to Creole and/or French.
