I have been working with smaller municipalities and First Nations communities for 14 years now. I have been the manager or director of Public Works, Operations, Community Housing, and Economic Development, and have also served as the Executive Director or Chief Administrative Officer in several term contracts. Stepping away from working directly with Councils, I have returned to my consulting roots. At this time I am primarily providing contract building inspection services and have been helping to develop policy and bylaws in development services, updating building bylaws and zoning bylaws, and working at developing economic development planning initiatives. With my partner consultants, we also write proposals to access public and private funding and partnerships to develop community services and infrastructure and also social housing projects. As a construction manager or consultant I have project managed several fire halls, a school, a public health building, a government administration building, several civil subdivision developments, and many kilometers of civil road and water infrastructure. As a builder I have built several hundred homes and a number multifamily complexes. I specialize in working with groups who may not have the capacity to access the funding available or liaise with the necessary partners to get the community goals accomplished, often having to act as the champion for every project I work on for lack of a strong administrative support staff to assist. I have extensive experience working in complex jurisdictional overlaps of adjacent communities and regional groups, and with many different political bodies from First Nation Councils and Municipal Councils to Provincial and Federal Ministerial groups. My current role as principle in my own firm allows me to engage with many developers and communities and get projects flowing. I offer business consultant services ranging from helping to create planning and policy to govern social and economic development, facilitating engagement between groups, and facilitating strategic planning sessions. With a designation in the BOABC we also offer building inspection services to small communities who do not employ their own inspectors and to larger communities who have overflow. Additionally we help social housing programs access funding for building and renovation projects and with IICRC Mold Inspection certification we assist with mold remediation services as well.
