Eddy comes with 30 years of marketing & communications experience. He started out in Creative and, as a rare case, moved to Account Management, with experience across strategic planning, branding, activation, digital and social media in local and global agencies. Eddy, a serial award winner, managed brand activation campaigns that won the Promotion Marketing Awards Asia for 2 years in a row (2008 & 2009) for Michelin Malaysia, the 2012 MARKies Best Idea Retail for Havaianas ‘Flip Flop Test Drive’ and Best Idea Consumer Event for Standard Chartered’s ‘This Is Anfield’ campaign.A key example would be the Cadbury ‘Say It With Chocolate’ activation campaign which was a big winner in the awards circuit, an idea created in the KL office and adapted across regional markets.Maxis Channel Marketing, benefited from his vast experience in retail marketing expertise, helping them ride the 2016 data explosion, emerging with a higher net profit for Q2 against the previous year. Eddy has worked on Destination/NTO Marketing brands such as Malaysia Airlines, Macau Tourism, Guam Tourism, Sarawak Tourism, Perak Tourism, Kedah Tourism and Langkawi Tourism.Eddy possess an extensive experience working with Government ministries such as MOTAC, KBS and MPB as well as NGO’s like BERNAS and Securities Commission. A key success was the development and roll-out of ‘Malaysia: Bouncing Back even Better than Before’ launched in 2018 coinciding with the PM’s UN General Assembly Address in New York. A worldwide through-the-line campaign with Digital as the driving platform.Previously Eddy led teams on JTI and BAT brands in Malaysia namely Winston, Camel and Dunhill, specializing in consumer engagement, channel marketing and trade activities.Strong knowledge in activation and digital, a critical part of his skill set across different touch-points resulting in projects such as the award winning OSK Investment Challenge, Emery worldwide Intranet, Michelin social amplification and Maxis More Data campaign.And back to winning ways in 2022 for Takaful Malaysia Merdeka TVC. The ‘Leman Loudspeaker’ TVC garnered over 3.6 million views on YouTube and was chosen as one of the Top 10 winners of the Experts’ Choice Awards Merdeka TVC 2022.Eddy loves football, golf, horror movies, graphic novels, indie music and never misses a Liverpool game.
