Started out in concrete with Century Ready-mix, in north Louisiana around 1992 as Quality Control. Learned how to quickly resolve problems that come along with a product with a short life span. Got certified by the State of Louisiana in 1994. Moved to Baton Rouge in 1999 to be part of the Quality Control Department for Angelo Iafrate Construction Company. When the company decided to move out of the state in 2002 went to work for Louisiana Testing and Inspection as a certified concrete technician. In 2006 came on board with Heck Concrete as Quality Control where I have developed a more complete Quality department. And now after 14 years Heck Industries has been bought out by Cajun Ready mix. I now have more trucks and plants under my watch. And again after a year and a half...you guessed it....we've been bought again. We are now part of the Holcim family.When it comes to concrete I've done just about everything there is to do. I started out working for the supplier; then went to the contractor; from there to the independent testing lab. and now back with the supplier. During my time with ready-mix I've done: Quality Control, sales, site representative, pre-pour site work, dispatching, batching, safety, environmental and loader operator. Sometimes in a smaller foot print you have to wear multiple hats. Through out this wonderful journey I have gathered 84 certificates of completion and 152 hours of continuing education in various concrete applications. I've acquired 39 interdepartmental certificates issued by Holcim. I've been Louisiana state certified for 31 years and ACI certified for 11 years. I also have a NRMCA Previous Technician certification.
