Ndewo! My name is Edward Acholonu. I am Nigerian-American. I am a husband. A lover of all things fitness. Nothing beats a sunny summer day car ride jamming to a mellow playlist on Spotify. - I am grateful for both my professional and personal journey so far. I finished my course at TechElevator and looking forward to joining the millions of people out there who love computers and dedicate their lives to elevating the world one code at a time.Here is a snapshot of my journey prior to joining Tech Elevator: - Grew up in a small town called Awaka - Southeast Nigeria- Attended a para-military boarding school for middle and high school in the rural parts of Nigeria. Let's say that I graduated not only with my high school diploma in hand but learned the most essential life skills that made me who I am today - integrity, discipline, respect, and accountability; and of course hundreds of stories to tell. - I moved to the United States at 16 to attend Suffolk University. Majored in Electrical Engineering, inspired by my father who loved math and physics. - After graduation, my former mentor, Dan Harry (RIP) took me under his wing as a Test Engineer and taught me how to translate the theory of electrical engineering to real-world applications in the realm of planar transformers and power supplies. - Although I enjoyed my experience, I quickly realized my passion is working with computers. - Simultaneously I worked in the healthcare field as a food service director where I gained most of my experience in leadership and management. - To expand my passion for computers, I joined a CyberSecurity boot camp at Vanderbilt University which I completed. Through this experience, however, I was introduced to the concept of software development which captivated my interest even more; particularly in applying coding skills to build secure web applications. Furthermore, while on this journey, I self-taught the basics of Python which helped me with my courses at Tech Elevator.
