To allow a secure connection with the ADFS servers, Unified Access Gateway will check and pass trough the claims to ADFS. Where ADFS federate with SharePoint. Because users need to authenticate a thirth party authentication service is used for a 2way authentication protocol. That will allow users to authenticate against SharePoint with there personal e-mail address, password and a token that has send to the mobile phone. Per location site we use separated ADFS configurations to connect to SharePoint. All communication is secured with SSL and can only pass trough UAG. This also allow us to create a branded environment and an non branded. This setup will be monitored trough SCOM 2012 and been backup trough DPM 2012The following components are used in this setup- UAG 2010 sp2 Array and separate Domain for management- ADFS 2.0 Rollup 2 And separate Domain to manage external users- FIM 2010 for provisioning users to the ADFS Active Directory servers- 2way authentication party that is used as a black box- SCOM 2012 for monitoring purposes- DPM 2012 for backup solutionThis environment is build on a windows 2008 r2 platform. The environment is build on MS Windows 2008 R2 with RDS as main desktop for al users with some specials that are using an virtual environment based on Windows 7 VDI concept.
