11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) (http://www.11thmeu.marines.mil) is a forward-deployed, rapid-response force capable of conducting amphibious operations, crisis response, contingency and maritime special operations.Applied, interviewed and selected through a highly competitive process. As Executive Officer and Second in Command of 2600 Marines and Sailors, my responsibilities ranged from direct management of the cross functional staff (16 direct reports), budget execution (over $50M) and accountability and maintenance of equipment (over $1.5B). Directed to prepare for multiple simultaneous operations, I was tasked with establishing an independent Task Force. Designed and built a new organization of over 650 personnel. Led the 11th MEU “Bravo Command” for over a year, operating from an independent Amphibious Assault Ship, while maintaining overall Second in Command responsibilities for the larger team. Successfully trained and deployed the task force, supervising daily changing mission requirements. Leveraged data analytics, global intelligence and cutting edge technologies to support innovative problem solving, operational decision making and supply chain management.Planned and executed Crisis Response operations in the Middle East and activities across four continents. Led large scale operations in Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait (responsible for over 1,000 personnel). Supervised events in Bahrain, Djibouti, United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangladesh, Chile and the Philippines.Conducted significant engagement and successful partnership building with international stakeholders. Extensive coordination and team building with partnered nations, including: national governments, military, police, business partners, religious leaders, and civil authorities. Coordinated with US Reginal Commands, Department of State, Special Operations Forces, Non-Government Organizations, contractors and media.
