As an Investigator in the Complaints and Investigations Department, my core responsibilities included investigating complaint inquiries involving pharmacy practice and fulfilling the College's mandate: to serve and protect the public.I am responsible for triaging and responding to complaint inquiries from the public, conducting investigations of complaint files, and presenting investigation findings to the College's Inquiry Committee. I've developed a strong foundational knowledge of provincial legislation, investigation methodology, investigative report writing, and core operations of a professional regulatory body complaint department with a focus on process improvement.

I ensured our dispensary met Shoppers Drug Mart Pharmacy Operating Standards and compliance to provincial requirements while providing strong leadership and organization for a team of 4 pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and students. I personally prospected, organized and executed multiple off site flu clinics for various companies in the Greater Vancouver Area in the 2018 Influenza Season (over 1000 doses administered). In 2017 I was the recipient of the UBC Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences Pharmacy Practice Educator of the Year for Outstanding Leadership and Commitment to Student Learning (Pharmacy 271).

As a staff pharmacist I oversaw technical accuracy of prescriptions prepared in the dispensary and regularly provided health management consultation and medication counselling to patients. I gained proficiency with navigating provincial and private drug insurance reimbursement models to ensure efficient and cost effective results for our patients. Additionally I supported colleagues and allied health care professionals as a clinical resource to drug information queries when required. I was a mentor and preceptor for multiple first year and fourth year UBC Pharmacy students during their clinical rotations of their Entry to Practice PharmD curriculum. I provided guidance and clinical training to students on patient education, communication and counselling techniques while growing their therapeutic expertise on common chronic disease states and therapeutic treatments encountered in the community setting.After 1 year I was promoted to Pharmacy Operations Lead which further developed my leadership, communication and organizational skills.

I was a staff pharmacist and also relief pharmacist in multiple locations in Ottawa, ON. I gained experience working with a wide spectrum of patient demographics in high volume (800+ prescriptions per day) dispensaries. I trained and acted as a preceptor for multiple fourth year Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) Students in their final year of clinical rotations for the University of Toronto. I provided guidance and clinical training on patient education, communication and counselling techniques and growing their therapeutic expertise on common chronic disease states and therapeutic treatments encountered in the community setting.

I started my journey in the community pharmacy space in multiple roles with Shoppers Drug Mart, including cashier, merchandiser, front store receiver and lead pharmacy technician. I familiarized myself with company pharmacy operating standards and procedures, loss prevention and inventory management. As lead technician I mastered the Shoppers Drug Mart computer operating systems, HealthWatch Next Generation and MMS systems. I learned basic patient compliance packaging scheduling, organization and execution processes.
