I assisted students taking their GCE 'O' Level examinations in the subjects of Additional Mathematics, Elementary Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. This involved a large amount of rapport building with my tutees and finding ways to pique their interest in the subjects so as to inspire learning, as well as employment of diverse teaching styles such as demonstrations, use of videos and online media, and clear concise explanations to help them grasp concepts well. I also assisted my tutees and parents in decision-making with regards to post-secondary education matters.

National Service Training Institute (Nsti)

For the main part of my two-year National Service stint with SCDF, I was part of a select handful of hand-picked instructors who handle and take care of recruits for their basic training phase. My job included supervising and ensuring the general well-being of recruits, and training them in both First Aid and Rescue skills. I also trained recruits in the handling and operation of rescue equipment, facilitated certification testing of said equipment usage. I was also heavily involved in the planning and execution of exercises to simulate real rescue scenarios for my recruits.

The University Of Queensland

I interned at the Protein Expression Facility (PEF) where I experienced firsthand how the facility conducts it's internationally recognised research and development. Working directly with highly accomplished specialists of the protein expression pipeline, I not only managed to intensively refine my expertise in scientific equipment and processes, but also acquired new skills in several methods of molecular cloning, protein expression via the baculovirus-insect cell expression system, and sequence analysis.
