Application Analyst
CurrentResponsible for planning, designing and implementing information systems and applications associated with specific business unit requirements. Performs encoding, testing, debugging and installation activities as necessary. Works with organizational end users to clarify current operating procedures, processes, and communicate program objectives. Installs upgrades and patches. Performs system backups and recovery. Monitors system configuration and maintains data files. Recommends upgrades, new applications, and equipment. Provides technical support and guidance to users. Relies on knowledge and professional discretion to achieve goals.I currently support the following internal departments (I'm all over the place, and list isn't all inclusive with some other minor roles I do):- Housing & Community Services / Wichita Housing Authority: I provide technical and operational assistance on maintaining various pieces of software, provide programmatic experience in writing custom SQL-heavy and some C# modules and reports. I also provide end-user assistance when necessary.- Parks & Recreation / Golf Wichita: Provide technical support and recommendations to users on best usage practices of software stack. Also act as a liaison to implement new software that helps to address operational efficiencies. - Public Works & Utilities / Water Utilities: Provide ancillary support as needed to maintain various facets of technical infrastructure to ensure that water utilities can provide services to our rate-payers.- IT Telecommunications: Provide ancillary support for telecom infrastructure, including servicing VoIP and voicemail systems for the organization.- City Manager's Office: Provide some technical assistance as needed for deploying and maintaining software.
