- Conceived, designed and implemented a one of kind system for searching and purchasing bus and train tickets from scratch. Designed and implemented an industry-first infrastructure layer that included a universal scheduling interface and standardized nomenclature system for bus and train stations (akin to SABRE and ITA in the airline industry). This consumer web/mobile system was implemented using a distributed, polyglot REST-API based architecture using two NoSQL dbs (Neo4j/MongoDB) and Javascript, nodejs and Python as languages.- Built the system to operational viability (24/7/365) with a continuous integration/deployment infrastructure and a multi-datacenter cloud environment. - Led the productization effort of Maark's Flex/AIR-based Business Value Calculator (www.estimatebusinessvalue.com). Created the technology, processes and practices that allowed the delivery of projects (based on the product) in days vs. months. The technology was based on reversed-engineered Excel, Ant, XML parsing technology with Java/Jakarta Velocity and a component architecture based on Flex and AIR. - Architected and coded an "Excel on Flex" platform that allowed the "injection" of cells into MXML tags. Reduced code size of UI panels by at least 85%. Created a dual-deployment file structure that allowed the simultaneous creation of business calculators for the desktop and the web (AIR and non-AIR) using the same data.- Introduced the company to the Agile/Scrum methodology and established a Scrum-based development process and culture.- Led the creation of a many of features in the business calculator platform like dynamic text, variable currency, cell persistence, cell dynamic recomputation, cell (multi-type) rendering, PDF report generation, dynamic creation of formulas and grids.

- Designed and developed a distributed mechanism for file distribution using JMS, ActiveMQ and Jakarta VFS. Created a pluggable event-based async framework that allows the addition of any number of commands and message handlers. Created message handlers that enabled remote deployment and remote invocations to Java, Ant, HTTP, RMI and IIOP. This framework was designed for replicating server configurations across machines.- Designed and developed a framework for system level services using JMX and Spring.

Open Sesame technology was based on attributes as opposed to collaborative filtering (pervasive technology at the time). Showcased the technology on eGenie, a personalization site for movies, music and concerts and newsGenie, a personalization site for news.- Led a team of five engineers by completely rewriting the product in over a year. Used leading-edge technology at the time (1998): XML and server-side Java. Successfully completed the relaunch of the product despite corporate neglect, obstruction from sales and marketing and low morale environment. Did not loose a single developer and successfully managed a spin-off to Allaire Corp. (Macromedia/Adobe) with a transaction valued at US$5 Mill. Decided on the technology choice (XML and Java) which proved to be a great selling point during the spin-off prospecting phase.
