I am a full-stack COO / CFO with senior leadership experience in people and finance (CIMA Adv Dip MA). My most recent role was as a founder of an ESG startup. We had a great few years, being awarded a smart grant from Innovate UK and raising initial VC investor capital. I'm now looking for my next challenge. In particular, I'm looking at Chief Operating Officer / Chief Financial Officer roles in startups at series A through to B. In the meantime, I'm acting as a fractional COO / CFO. Some of the areas I can help with: - fundraising strategy (grants / SEIS & EIS)- preparing to raise including developing a financial model that works for VC- extending the runway (incl R&D tax credits)- people strategy - what to look for in non-execs- and general running of a startup (setting up pensions, IP applications)My other hat is as a Senior Director on the management committee of The Wine Society, a mutual retail co-op with £125m+ turnover. This is an interesting complementary role: over the past five years, we have experienced unprecedented growth, and a large part of my role has been overseeing the setting up of robust systems and processes to support this -- similar to what you would see at series A/B. I also chair our People subcommittee, which leads on ESG and EDI.I bring a wide experience of different industries and business models, having worked with multinational companies and key government players: Visa, Santander, National Grid, Lonely Planet, John Lewis, Serious Fraud Office, Ofgem (GB energy regulator), Mayor of London, London 2012 Olympics.The key thread that runs throughout my work in innovation: I've never been one to accept the status quo 'just because'. I have a relentless curiosity and have always enjoyed learning and finding better ways of doing things. And my best skill? In the words of a former boss, I am a "frighteningly fast learner", something that I am increasingly realising is immensely valuable as the world around us changes at pace. I'm a strong advocate for women. I'm a Women On Boards network champion and have previously worked as a business mentor for Cherie Blair's Foundation for Women. Outside of work, I'm a keen cyclist, musician and wine lover.
