My areas of expertise include education management, project and change management, curriculum development and pedagogy. My teaching interests include nursing studies; research; professional issues; communication; cultural competence: leadership project and change management. My research interests include; clinical education; internationalisation; transcultural competence in nursing. I am involved in National and European research projects and am on expert advisory groups with NMBI and the HSE. I have organised academic conferences and am currently a member of the Research and Education Foundation conference organising committee I am currently Acting President of St Angelas college and the Head of Department of Nursing Health Science and Disability Studies and have held positions of; Programme Director at undergraduate and post graduate studies in the areas of Health Science, Critical care/Intensive care and General Nursing. I am a community activist and am involved in many charities such as Irish Children with Arthritis Network. Friends of Sligo University Hospital & First Light.
