    Specialised in the area of marine environmental sensing with a particular focus on computer vision, remote sensing, multi-modal monitoring networks, data modelling centred around statistical and machine learning algorithms, event detection and prediction, and trust and reliability in networks. This research was carried out in the CLARITY centre and the MESTECH research hub within the National Centre for Sensor Research (NCSR).Funding: The Beaufort Marine Research Awards, carried out under the Sea Change Strategy and the Strategy for Science Technology and Innovation (2006-2013), with the support of the Marine Institute, funded under the Marine Research Sub- Programme of the National Development plan 2007-2013. The work was also assisted by Science Foundation Ireland under grant 07/CE/I1147.The work being carried out as part of this postdoctoral research contributed to the national SmartOcean Strategy and projects carried out through SmartBay Ireland.
