Clarity Technical Services specializes in providing expert advice and technical services pertaining to audio-visual, IT, Lighting and related systems. The ultimate goal is to help owners get the most out of their AV/IT systems on board their yachts, in their offices and in their homes by focusing on the desired experience first, and then selecting the right combination of technologies to achieve that experience.

Kaag, South Holland, Netherlands

In August 2020, Feadship Royal Van Lent invited me to take on a Project Lead AVIT & Security role on project BN822. At the request of the yard and the Owner's team I agreed to see the project through to delivery. I was subsequently asked to also take on Comms, Nav, Lighting and part of the electrical systems on the project.

Kaag, South Holland, Netherlands

The owner's team on BN823 kindly asked me to join this project in late 2020.I was heavily involved in the specification phase and subsequent tendering process for the AV, IT, Comms, and Security packages. Once the production started, the appointed project manager took on the day to day management of the works, and I took on a higher lever advisory and oversight role, working to ensure the client got what was agreed and stepping in where needed to help tackle challenges that came up.

FWD Innovations was set up to offer clients in the superyachting industry a place where they could go for special bespoke product development, as well as technical services related to AV/IT systems. Despite having some loyal customers, the company failed to gain enough momentum, and ultimately closed its doors in January of 2020.

Alblasserdam, The Netherlands

In this role I was responsible for seeking out and being up to speed with the latest and best technologies for AV, IT, Lighting, Communication, Security and Navigation systems and to act as the linking pin between the project development team and the owners' teams for all things related to these systems during the design and development phase of the projects. During my time in this role, I spearheaded the specification development for these systems on builds Y716, Y717, Y718, Y719, Y720 and Y721.Furthermore, I provided support to the project teams for ongoing builds as well as to the Oceanco Fleet Support team as and when required.

My role as CTO was to continuously improve the technical expertise and infrastructure of the company, and to push for innovation throughout. This ranged from the systems we used internally to knowledge management and training, quality standards, processes, policy and of course product portfolio.

In this role I was responsible for streamlining the product and system portfolio of the company, based on customer wishes, as well as practical (engineering/system design related) criteria. I provided knowledge and technical support across all sales processes and running projects, and I functioned as the technical linking pin between sales, engineering and production.

Van Berge Henegouwen Installations is a leading specialist company that installs audio/video, IT, lighting and security systems aboard superyachts. My tasks a project manager included the full lifecycle of a yacht project, i.e. account management, bid management, system design, supervision of engineering/planning/ work preparation, general project management, troubleshooting and after sales service. I was personally involved with dozens of newbuild and refit projects, and was the responsible project manager for all Oceanco and Heesen projects during my time as a project manager at VBH.During that time I was also part of the core team that helped the company through a very challenging period of change and growth. I ultimately left project management to become portfolio manager and later CTO at the same company.

Master's Thesis project for which I spent 6 months at Philips in Singapore developing a new user experience for the setup and calibration of home theater systems. This involved literature research, consumer research, UX/UI design and testing.

Troubleshooting PC problems, installing hardware/software, installing new systems, helpdesk work.
