I am in my penultimate year of studying Networks and Cyber Security at Auckland University of Technology. With an engrained drive to succeed, I am always looking for ways I can sharpen my technical skills and expand my general knowledge. Currently, I am part of the Youth Advisory Panel of New Zealand’s Classification Office where I have had opportunities to work on projects such as being part of a working group for the Mis/dis-information report – “He Uru Kahikatea: Building young people’s resilience through media and information literacy and digital citizenship skills” with The Office of the Prime Minister’s Chief Science Advisor. I have also spoken on a panel with the Chief Human Rights Commissioner and Chief Censor about preventative measures on online extremism and radicalisation through a young person lens.Technically, aside from university, I build my portfolio of skills through consistently learning on platforms such as TryHackMe and playing around with CTF’s. My future plans in the coming year is bringing the tech industry closer to university students through my new role as the Vice President for The Computer Science and Engineering Association at AUT.
