Worked both the circulating and scrub role in gynaecological oncology, general surgery, head and neck surgery, plastic surgery, thoracic surgery as well as cardiac surgery. Circulating Role- Helped set up the operating room for the entire interdisciplinary team which included making sure all machinery was on and working, all of the supplies needed are available which include specialty equipment, sutures and much more- Assisted the anesthesiologist with different procedures such as central line placement, swan gans catheter placement as well as epidurals and nerve blocks- Assisted the anesthesiologist with intubation - Ensured that everything ran smoothly during surgeries by running blood gasses, ordering blood products and collecting and sending off specimens to name the few. - Ensured that sterility is kept in the operating room at all times Scrub role- Organized and ensured that all of the surgical instruments are set up and sterile- Performed the scrub count with the circulating nurse- Passed the surgeons instruments and loaded appropriate sutures as needed - Collected and kept record of specimens needed to be passed to the circulating nurse-Helped sterilely set up laparoscopic instruments as well the robot and microscope used in numerous surgeries

I interned with the Aeroplan Arrival team, helping find stock images that were going to be used in the magazine, as well as designing part of the content and some front covers. I joined in on meetings and gained amazing experience.
