I am a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, holding a Computer Science degree with a concentration in Software, Systems, and Networks. My minor is in Geology. I have also received my Certified Wireless Network Associate certification as well as my Certified Wireless Design Professional, and am currently working on my CCNA. During my time at UNCC, I was able to work as a Teaching Assistant for the Computer Science college, and the Executive chair of the mentoring program of my school. As a TA I was able to assist and teach students with their course load through one-on-one sessions and group sessions. As the Executive chair of the Students Obtaining Success program of UNCC, I was able to work with students who were on academic probation as a mentor. As chair, I was able to advise other mentors how to best work with students. I started at CommScope / Ruckus as an intern for the CommScope Infrastructure and Cloud team working directly under the VP. On this team I was able to get a better understanding of how industry networks were created, run and monitored. The following summer I began work on the Ruckus Network division as a Systems Engineering intern. In this position I was able to solidify my love for the sales industry and building VAR and customer relationships. My internship transitioned to a full-time job as a Systems Engineer for the Northeast and Southeast. Here I was assigned to three sales reps and have become the technical advisor for their VARs. My main responsibilities were to develop and maintain a deep technical understanding of Ruckus’ products to both teach the VARs Ruckus technology as well as build solutions for our customers. To do this I would often give customized demos of the products as well as create presentations and use them to further educate customers and our VARs. The essential portion of this job, and my favorite part, is building the relationships with the customers and partners as their trusted advisor.
