Eden Orfanos - Shoro Email and Phone Number
I am a registered Clinical Supervisor, Psychotherapist and Trauma Informed Expressive Arts Therapist; and the creator of 'Art and Om' - integrative practice, workshops and retreats. I have witnessed the power art has to heal. I have been tirelessly passionate and committed to the wellbeing and empowerment of people who have been traumatised, stigmatised or socially disadvantaged. Art can be a tool or platform for social change, recovery / discovery and global expression. In the last decade I have worked with refugees and people who have been displaced by natural disaster or the effects of war, deaf orphans in Uganda, homeless women in Skid Row, Los Angeles and incarcerated adolescents in a Texas prison. More recently, I have worked clinically in mental health settings with cancer survivors, LD men in a specialist forensic setting, the elderly dealing with dementia and Alzheimer's disease, and with women seeking refuge from domestic violence and with children whose behaviours challenge. Prior to working in the mental health sector, I worked in the entertainment and fashion industry. This experience has given me an edge to be a creative leader in strategically thinking outside the box, working with an array of unique and talented people. I have acquired a dynamic skill-set working imaginatively and efficiently as an art director, stylist and producer. I have experience in Public Relations / Speaking, and have presented in a variety of media outlets, public broadcast radio, TV and have performed on stage in theatrical productions. I am the creator of 'Art and Om' integrative workshops. I hold certificates in Trauma Informed Expressive Arts Therapy (TIEA), Equine Lead Therapy, Photo-Therapy and Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TSY) / RYT200. I have witnessed the healing power of art working with a great diversity of people. Working within an ethical boundried framework, I keep the client at the heart of my practice. With compassion and empathy I seek innovative and meaningful holistic and arts based approaches to inspire imagination, creativity and to empower.

FounderArt And Om - Integrative Psychotherapy Practice May 2019 - PresentMálaga Area, SpainArt and Om© merges the methodologies of Art Psychotherapy, Trauma Informed Expressive Arts and Trauma Sensitive Yoga. Art and Om is experiential and psycho-educational, combining the benefits of integrative expressive art therapies (drama, movement and visual art) and Yogic practice, Experience imaginative expression and contained artistic creation, incorporating a gentle grounding process within a Yogic framework including: Vipassana (mind-body awareness), Yoga Nidra (guided mindful meditation), Pranayama (attuned breathing techniques), and Asanas of Vinyasa Flow (rhythmic movement of physical postures) within a safe healing space. The intention of Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TSY) is to build resiliency and establish greater self-regulation; specifically for clients who suffer with symptoms of PTSD. TSY supports clients to move away from emotional dysregulation and negative visceral responses by offering strategies to feel safe, empowered and self contained. Both arts based therapies and TSY offer agency, non-verbal expression, mind-body integration, ‘Top-down / Bottom-up’ process and an opportunity for prosocial group connection and being witnessed. The combination of both practices, when client lead, offer a holistic approach for alleviating the effects of trauma. Discover the use of Drishti (orienting with focal gaze) as a regulatory mechanism, and the practice of Dharma - which encourages interrelatedness, empathy and meaning. Witness techniques of interiorization and projection, in order to delicately access the embodied trauma of pain, and a renewed ability to artistically articulate it - revealing it through a holistic physical practice and contained creative process. Gain insight and experience the synergy of these mutually beneficial modalities. Discover artistic initiatives and innovative techniques to deepen an embodied practice, while empowering and enriching transformative trauma therapies.
