Graduated from The University of Northampton with a BSc(Hons) Geography degree in the First Class. University enabled me to expand my knowledge base whilst also building upon my ability to effectively manage time and responsibilities in order to achieve positive results.Previous experience working part-time at Explore Learning, tutoring children of various ages and abilities in both Maths and English. Helping to monitor their academic and social progress in order for them to reach their full potential was challenging but extremely rewarding.Six years experience working as a Teacher of Geography in Secondary education. Inspiring and enabling the development of children's education in both the subject of Geography and transferable life skills. Responsibility for monitoring and responding to the individual progress of all students. Creative and innovative thinking have also been key parts of the role. Development of excellent time management skills, with a heavy workload and meeting regular deadlines of varying nature.For the past three years I have also been working in a Deputy Head of Faculty role in a large comprehensive secondary school which I have worked in for 5 years. The Faculty consists of 5 subjects that fall under 'Social Sciences' and 'Humanities'. This role includes managing teams of people, planning schemes of learning across KS3, KS4 and KS5 curriculum for multiple subjects, and as a class teacher in two of these subjects. I am also responsible for the running of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award at Bronze and Gold Level within this school. This draws on many of my key skills, such as organisation, communication and effective time management. There are over 100 students undertaking their DofE Awards each year, and each year I organise training sessions, expeditions and regular meetings with both students, teachers and parents.
