I held this position for two Mariposa Folk Festivals “MFF”; summer of 2012 and 2013. It was great fun and I had the absolute pleasure of getting to know the most unbelievable talent! Memorable Takeaway/2012: Chatting over a beer with Gordon Lightfoot! His appearance was an unscheduled performance and a sheer delight to all there. Before the amazing headliner, Canadian Songwriter, Jann Arden took the stage; Gordon preformed two songs to 7,000 festival goers. While playing, other than the sound of Gordon and his guitar the audience was so silent you could hear your heartbeat. When finished, the crowd erupted into tremendous cheers and ovation!*Coordinating media shoots, broadcasts, and interviews in a timely fashion*Monitored the "corral / media pit", a secured area in front of the main stage where media photography was working to take photos and videos of the main stage performers*Facilitated in media scrums sometimes with little notice*Project management including the organization and execution of media events*Assessing and responding to incoming media inquiries and coordinating appropriate responses and * *Interviews, Writing, editing, uploading, and maintaining website content*Monitored and participated in social media events using Facebook, Twitter and YouTube accounts.Contributed to MFF’s success by identifying media stories/opportunities and developing tools, including news releases, media and government, events, institute publications, media experts, and website content.
