Mr. Lee is the Founder and Managing Member of Sagent Group, an investment firm with approximately $600 million of capital. Prior to establishing Sagent, he founded Oaktree Capital Management's private lending platform and was the portfolio manager of Oaktree’s $6bn Strategic Credit strategy, an opportunistic credit and structured equity investment strategy. He also established and served as the CEO and CIO of Oaktree’s three business development companies (BDCs) including Oaktree Specialty Lending and Oaktree Strategic Income Corporations. He served on the firm's senior executive leadership committee and successfully led many of the firm's growth initiatives. Prior to creating Oaktree's private lending platform, Mr. Lee was a senior investment professional within the firm’s Opportunities Funds group and led the group's credit and equity investments in the media, technology and telecom industries. Before joining Oaktree, Mr. Lee worked within the Investment Banking division at UBS Investment Bank in Los Angeles and advised clients on mergers and acquisitions and capital raising opportunities. Mr. Lee also has held roles at Lehman Brothers, Booz and Company and the Urban Institute. He received a B.A. degree in economics from Swarthmore College and his master’s degree from Harvard University. Mr. Lee serves as a director for several private and publicly listed companies including Neo Performance Materials (TSX: NEO), Cloud 5 Communications, and Nexus Pharmaceuticals. He previously served on the boards of Nine Entertainment (ASX: NEC) and Charter Communications (NASDAQ: CHTR).
