Test/Validation Engineer
Currently working on Phase Lock Loop Labview and Device Under Test Firmware to characterize Jitter, VCO and Charge Pump proper operations.Developed validation test programs for analog IP modules in next generation ARM MCUs Embedded Intellectual Properties (IP) such as a 16 bit ADC, Programmable Gain Amplifiers 16 bit ADC front End Interface, Digital To Analog and High Speed Comparator modules.Created Labview test programs to validate embedded programmable gain amplifier (PGA) and Voltage Reference Regulator meets design specifications.Reduced noise measurements on two 16-bit ADC devices by re-designing and building new boards using best layout practices.Performed duties as technical board layout expert for Freescale's analog test group, by addressing the following issues:(Embedded Operational Amplifier Undesired Oscillations). Resolved issue by simulating stray board capacitance and inductance to explain Analog Amp undesired Oscillations.By laying out a special analog board with special layout techniques that protected analog signals from external radiation and adjacent cross talk.
Applications Engineer
Worked in 8/16 bit microcontroller division at Freescale Semiconductor in Technical Information Center as a team leader supporting worldwide customers. Supported USB and IIC communication protocols and device operations to peers and junior engineers.Supported an HC08 Touch Sensor reference design by writing a RS232 menu driven firmware which had the following attributes: Drive a small DC motor drive water pump with H-Bridge Driver. Report Touch Sensor Status and level values based on water levels.Supported an HC08 Touch Sensor reference design by writing Visual Graphical Interface to show water levels sent by special water demo reference design.Performed duties as technical expert on board layout and provided technical design assistance for the analog test group, by addressing the following issues:Crystal Startup.MCU Reset and Power up/down sequence.
Applications Engineer
Solved IIC collision problems in HC08 MCUs by performing special signal tests on embedded IIC module. Efforts required special failure analysis test points pulled from CADENCE layout files which led to determining the root cause of a problem that threatened the loss of business at a European Dish Washer Maker.IIC investigation generated the following Tools:IIC HC12 Master and Slave Interrupt Driven Driver.IIC HC08 Master and Slave Interrupt Driven Driver.IIC HC08 Failure Mode Report to design.Assisted Motorola marketing team win designs for next generation 8 and 16 bit products in the Industrial and Consumer Markets.Designed a four cylinder multi-port fuel injection system with a single HC11E2 MCU using a single timer, ADC and Periodic Timer to sequence Injector Firing up to 6000 Revolution Per Minutes (RPM). The main purpose of the project was to understand the challenges hidden behind a fuel injection system . The Fuel Injection Firmware was written in HC11 assembly code to avoid C compiler Optimization deficiencies.Collaborated with Motorola Automotive division to develop and write CAN software drivers/Firmware simulating an automobile's body control network for launch demos at the embedded conference in Detroit for GM, Chrysler and Ford.Assisted Motorola marketing team win designs sockets for next generation of automotive products.Worked with the top three automakers for effective use of Motorola microcontroller devices aiding them in the use of tools such as emulators, compilers and test equipment.Provided technical presentations, demonstrations, benchmarking to automotive customersProvided debugging support to TRW, DELPHI, Ford, and Siemens for power train, airbag and body control modules.
System Administrator
Worked on operating system installations for SUN servers and workstations, configured and loading applications, and maintained sales database (SYBASE).Provided demonstration units for the local and educational sector.
System Administrator
Validated regular and floating point CPU's performance on IBM's new RS6000 product by assembling hardware and building necessary interface boards to logic analyzers.Compiling and rewriting a variety of benchmark programs to collect valuable performance parameters to determine MIPS/MFLOPS, and cache load and miss statistical plots. Performed system administration tasks on the AIX Operating System as required.
