Vice President
Norwich, United Kingdom
The primary target in my role was to be part of the team and assist anyone if they requested it. I believe that it is a duty to everyone who is on the committee of the Business Society. The choice to stand for this or any other committee position shows that this particular person has committed his-/herself to just that. In terms of individual projects carried out by me, there were three that were overlooked/represented by myself:1. Trip to Lotus Cars factory in Hethel, Norfolk2. Attraction of new sponsors that would be willing to contribute to UEA Business Society3. NBS Ball (part of a Project Management course)--------------------------------------------1) TRIP TO LOTUS CARS FACTORY IN HETHEL, NORFOLKThis trip consisted of 30 people, as that was the maximum capacity at the time for Lotus Cars that they could allow to come to the factory to visit. However, the interest was far more greater than that – all of the 30 places got allocated in less than 24 hours after the announcement of the trip went out, and at least 15 more people contacted me afterwards with an interest in taking part in this trip.2) ATTRACTION OF NEW SPONSORSI managed to attract some interest from businesses from Norfolk and from a Nationwide perspective, and established links on which next year's committee could build on and, hopefully, make the Business Society larger and more valuable than it is at the moment.3) NBS BALLFor the second year running, I have been involved in organizing the NBS Ball. This year, however, for the first time in the history of the Ball, it was organized as part of the Project Management course, which is what is going to happen next year as well. (See "PROJECTS" sections for more details).--------------------------------------------Our efforts were congratulated at the UEA Student's Union awards, where our society was awarded "Best Academic Society of the Year" award for 2014/2015. It was the first ever award received by Business society.
