  • Warwick Racing
    Technical Sponsorship Manager
    Warwick Racing Nov 2015 - Jul 2016
    Coventry, United Kingdom
I got the honour of becoming technical sponsorship manager, a position which previously was held by engineering students from Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG). This position has allowed me to participate in Engineering Meetings where I am the only non-engineering member present. I use these meetings to gather information from engineers to carry out sponsorship negotiations for parts and sponsorship they require. This has helped me to not only to learn more about processes that involve manufacture a racing car, but also to give first hand experience of working with different stakeholders from various academic backgrounds towards achieving a common goal.So far, I have managed to attain a sponsorship from the University of Warwick Opportunity Fund to finance testing sessions of the competition car, WR6, and electric concept car WR-E. Also, I have made contact and negotiated potential sponsorship deals with companies such as Altair, NGK, KS Composites, Ricardo and others. I also chaired meetings of the sponsorship team during Business Development Manager’s absence.
  • University Of East Anglia
    Student Ambassador
University Of East Anglia Nov 2013 - May 2015
    Norwich, United Kingdom
The role as a student ambassador of UEA first and foremost required representing the University, and this representation was worthy of people deciding on choosing UEA as their university. I have a feeling that I managed to inspire potential students to decide on choosing UEA, and a younger generation of students to try their hardest to get into university one day.Roles varied from shift to shift. Most common responsibilities of mine were taking potential students and children from schools around Norwich for a campus tour, showing briefly what the life at UEA is like and trying to influence their decision so it ends up as a choice for sticking with our University for their studies in the future.I most enjoyed my shift where I was required to look after some Year 4 and Year 5 scholars who came for a University experience visit. It was enjoyable and a lot of fun, especially hearing their views on life and things that are happening around us, as they are very sweet and, sometimes, very important for grown ups to hear. Also, I enjoyed my time teaching two Year 11 students at City Academy Norwich some Video Making skills during the Spring semester of 2014.
  • Uea Business Society
    Vice President
Uea Business Society Apr 2014 - Apr 2015
    Norwich, United Kingdom
The primary target in my role was to be part of the team and assist anyone if they requested it. I believe that it is a duty to everyone who is on the committee of the Business Society. The choice to stand for this or any other committee position shows that this particular person has committed his-/herself to just that. In terms of individual projects carried out by me, there were three that were overlooked/represented by myself:1. Trip to Lotus Cars factory in Hethel, Norfolk2. Attraction of new sponsors that would be willing to contribute to UEA Business Society3. NBS Ball (part of a Project Management course)--------------------------------------------1) TRIP TO LOTUS CARS FACTORY IN HETHEL, NORFOLKThis trip consisted of 30 people, as that was the maximum capacity at the time for Lotus Cars that they could allow to come to the factory to visit. However, the interest was far more greater than that – all of the 30 places got allocated in less than 24 hours after the announcement of the trip went out, and at least 15 more people contacted me afterwards with an interest in taking part in this trip.2) ATTRACTION OF NEW SPONSORSI managed to attract some interest from businesses from Norfolk and from a Nationwide perspective, and established links on which next year's committee could build on and, hopefully, make the Business Society larger and more valuable than it is at the moment.3) NBS BALLFor the second year running, I have been involved in organizing the NBS Ball. This year, however, for the first time in the history of the Ball, it was organized as part of the Project Management course, which is what is going to happen next year as well. (See "PROJECTS" sections for more details).--------------------------------------------Our efforts were congratulated at the UEA Student's Union awards, where our society was awarded "Best Academic Society of the Year" award for 2014/2015. It was the first ever award received by Business society.
  • Volvo Musa Motors Riga
    Sales Assistant
Volvo Musa Motors Riga Jul 2014 - Aug 2014
    Riga, Latvia
To find out whether or not my future career would be realistic for me if I chose to work in an industry that I am passionate about, I decided to work for a car dealership. Luckily for me I got a chance not to just have an experience seeing how the car sales process works, but also to have an insight in other ares of car business on a dealership level, including Human Resources, Marketing, Logistics and Finance. In the sales assistant position my main responsibilities include not just attempting to sell Volvo cars, but also to help to maintain the brand's premium image and help improving the overall performance of the dealership. I did that by analysing customer questionnaire data and gave suggestions for improving customer service. Then I looked into how to improve the car selling process (from initial contact to description of particular Volvo models' specifications and available features). Though improvements were minimal I believe they were beneficial for the car selling process. For example, I suggested that cargo covers must cover the boot of the car so the customer has the initial encouragement to touch the car, thus making them more comfortable to explore the car more and to become more approachable by the sales staff. When I finished working here I was far more confident in the belief that choosing work in an automative industry for my career path is the right path.
