Teaching University students in Interactive Design, Game Design, Technical Art, Modeling, Texturing, Rigging and Animation● Developing the artistic, communication, and time management skills necessary to have in a game dev team.● Thinking actively and critically about issues relating to the ways in which art aimed at computer game design functions as visual art in contemporary culture.● Critical analysis of styles, visual languages, and their expressive possibilities in fosteringdifferent kinds of engagement in computer games● Creation of concept art from sketch to finished, detailed work● Advanced techniques of 3D modelling, texturing and animation.● Awareness of central technical issues: digital imaging tools, digitizing manualdrawings/paintings, testing developing game art in the dynamic visual context of the game.Weekly class sessions will include:● Technical demonstrations and handson practice in a broad range of techniques and concepts in handling digital equipment and software as drawing/painting/imaging tools● Project assignments to develop skills and imaginative faculties in creating concept art,pixel art, animations, and collaborative images● Presentations and discussions by the instructor and students of critical ideas relatingto digital and game art in visual culture, supported by selected readings● Specific attention to issues of design and color theory● Student presentation and critique
