XAP manages the query flow and ensures that no query gets dropped, despite a load of hundreds of millions of queries (transactions) per day.Development Lead – Live Search Instant Answers. Search instant answers augment web results with things like stock quotes, weather forecasts, sports scores, movie listings, and reference information (“Calories in a squirrel?”). In all, Bing.com has hundreds of different islands of structured data that are shown when relevant.Development Lead – Windows Live QnA. QnA.live.com (now defunct) was Microsoft’s initial foray into community-base search results. It enabled users to ask questions of a community that consisted of experts, members of their social network, and innocent bystanders. Answers get aggregated, judged, and published for others to search and use.Development Lead – Local Search. Architect and development lead for Microsoft’s initial local search engine.

My role was as the lead engineer – I coordinated the work of five peers through an initial release and two subsequent releases, while also driving the overall architecture and writing code in the middle tier.

It enabled administrators to define global policy and workflow for server upgrades, backup, and scheduled operations. Config Central won the 1998 Network World Magazine World Class Award for enterprise network management products. Lead client developer for “DS Expert”DS Expert is a network management application for monitoring Novell Directory Services (NDS) installations. As client lead, I defined the architecture for the presentation and alerting tier and oversaw its implementation.
